All these Model 37's had the serial number prefix of 381. They were reverted back to the original shell stops that year. ****In 1974, Ithaca tried a design change in the shell stop system, which proved to be faulty. The Skeet Grade was discontinued after 1954. The Trap Model was returned to the general listing by 1954 as the Target Grade. The special sequences for the Solid Rib were abandoned by 1949 when they were included in the General pump listing. Skeet Model numbers were 80000 - 89999, and the Trap Model numbers were 88000 to 89000. The initial sequence of numbers for the Solid Rib was 70000 to 79999. ***In 1941 the company reserved blocks of serial numbers for Solid Rib, Skeet and Trap models. This company went out of business around 1915 ** LeFever guns numbered under 10000 are built by the old LeFever Arms Company located in Syracuse NY. The Model 280 had a Walnut, straight-grip stock. The Ithaca-SKB Grades 100, 200E and 280 were catalogued in the 1976 catalogue but none in the 1978. This model was essentially the Grade 100 with a beavertail forend and figured walnut stock. The Ithaca-SKB Grade 150 was introduced in 1972. The blued frame of the Grade 200E was changed to a silvered frame in 1972. Two new Ithaca-SKB grades were introduced in 1966 the Grade 100 and the Grade 200E (ejector) both grades have selective single triggers, automatic ejectors, 25-inch to 30-inch barrels and were 12 gauge by 1968 both were available in 20 gauge. Based on the information below, my gun was likely made between 19 200E has the blued frame (also beavertail forend).
